About

Dr Sanghamitra Sadhu holds a PhD from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, India. She was a Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla (2017-2019) where she completed her research project and monograph “Speaking Subjects: Life-writing in India from Below” which is in the process of publication. She was awarded a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Tagore Centre for Global Thought in India Institute, King’s College, London, UK in 2015  (January-April) for her research on life-writing in modern India. She was part of Ego-media International Network Project, an ERC (European Research Council) funded project at King's College, London, UK (2014-2019). Her academic interests include life-writing, digital humanities, postcolonial literature, theories of narrative and self, theories of nation/empire, and gender besides creative writing and translation. 
 

 

Teaching

Dr Sanghamitra Sadhu has been teaching English at Cotton University (UG and PG levels) since 2010. 

Research Projects

1. Completed a research project " Speaking Subjects: Life-writing in India from Below" as a resedential Fellow in Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla during 2017-2019. The project explores the practice of life-writing in contemporary India from below underlining the relationality between autobiographical performance and marginal subjects. The manuscript has been in the process of publication.

2. Completed a UGC sponsored Minor Research Project on "Narrative Self, Fiction and its Supplements: A Study of Doris Lessing's Novels" in 2014.
