About

Dhrubajyoti Das holds a PhD on the topic, "Treatment of Nature in the poems of Nirmalprabha  Bardoloi and Emily Dickinson" from Gauhati University. A noted poet and writer of Assam, his interest varies from North East literature to American literature to World poetry. He is a regular contributor in newspapers and magazines. He has eight books to his credit that include 'Prem Pratidan'(Novel), 'Adim Awegor Juiphul' (Anthology of poems), Brahmaputrar Ashirbad Aru Anyanya Rachona (Anthology of articles), Biswa Sahitya Shristi aru Shrasta (Anthology of literary articles), Boroshun Naahile Maataal Nohoi Manuh (Anthology of poems), Woman of Earth: An anthology of select verses, poetry and prose (Edited), Sikshak Prashasthi (Edited) and Somaj Hitoishi Gourishankar Bhattacharyya (Edited) etc. A former Academic Counselor of IGNOU and KKH Open University, Das delivered speech as a Resource Person on "Ethics and Contemporary Society : Role of Value Education" in a UGC sponsored National  Seminar organized by Egra S.S.B College, West Bengal (India) held on February 28, 2015. He was also invited as a Resource Person to a seminar on "Present trend of Assamese poetry" by Grand Guwahati Poetry Festival organized by NIDUS, Cotton University and East India Poets at Bibekananda Kendra, Guwahati on January 20, 2018.     

A former editor of Kathamalita, an Assamese Monthly Journal in poetry, he was Professor In-charge of Cottonian, the student journal of Cotton University for seven years from 2012 to 2019.  Ardently associated with the academic and corporate life of the University, Das has also been acting as the Editor of 'Cotton University Newsletter' since 2017 and as the President of Cotton University New Writers’ and Artists’ Association (aka NABEEN) since 2018. In 2020, Das has been designated as Guest-Referee and an Editorial Board Member of an international UGC-CARE listed Journal, Rock Pebbles and as a Senior Editor of an international double blind peer-reviewed journal, Annual International Journal on Analysis of Contemporary Legal Affairs (AIJACLA) published by Aequitas Victoria Foundation, Bihar. A Life Member of Asom Sahitya Sabha and an Advisory Board Member of North East Year Book Publication, Guwahati, Das has been acting as the Senior Editor of Rupantor- The Destiny for Revolution, an e-magazine on art and literature published by Aequitas Victoria Foundation. He also has experiences as a journalist working with several newspapers such as ‘The Assam Tribune’ (2001-2004), ‘Dainik Asom’ (2001-2004), ‘Asomiya Pratidin’ (1995-1998), ‘Amar Asom’ (1998-2003) and ‘Dainik Janasadharan’ (2002-2003).
